Staff support for eco emotions

It is well known that teachers and sustainability professionals are often placed under such pressure that many experience burn out.

Caring for the caregivers helps them do their job.

Similar to a Climate Café, Climate Staffroom holds space for people to share their concerns and worries, freely.

Unlike a Climate Café, Climate Staffroom invites you to reflect on the particular challenges of climate and environmental education, and what has been helpful for you.

What to expect:

  • small groups of under 12 people.

  • short meditations (optional)

  • timed sharing on prompt questions (optional)

  • cameras on

  • facilitator may ‘reflect back’ or thank you for your share, but no feedback or advice is given.

If you can, please bring an item from nature.

 Tutor,

Climate Staffroom participant

It's been great connecting with other people also concerned about our planet. I think that what you are doing is important.

Climate Staffroom facilitator

A range of emotions were expressed and issues covered. People said they felt less lonely, it was great to know other people are out there struggling sometimes by themselves with the same things but in a different place

School sustainabilty lead, Climate Staffroom participant

I found it a really helpful session - thank you so much. Thank you too for the resources...you are doing such great things, thank you.
